Hilton Garden Inn Mattoon

Ok place but it's been awhile since the bathroom floors have been mopped (wiping with damp white towel turned it rather gray) and dust is building up on the trim under desk places. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

Clean and spacious rooms. Location is great, close to plenty of amenities - right by highway on/off ramps, shopping, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Hotel uses updated technology including Hilton App check-in/check-out, digital room key…it is convenient and easy! Restaurant on property is convenient!

I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn (Mattoon). The room was clean and spacious. We arrived before the restaurant/bar opened but the desk clerk gave us info to a great local spot that delivered. The staff was very kind and helpful as my husband and I needed additional assistance and they jumped right in to help. This was a great stay. Be sure to visit the bar!!

My partner and I loved our stay at the Hilton. However, my only concern is that the front desk staff seemed to be freezing with no heater. Management should do better in ensuring their employees are comfortable and taken care of.

I was very scared reading all the negative reviews, my company made the reservations for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised. My company did pay for breakfast 10 bucks, if I had to pay I would have gone to cracker barrel down the street. The breakfast is powdered eggs, sausage, hard as rocks biscuits and gravy definitely not worth the money. They did have a waffle machine. The utensils for serving were gross, greasy lids on the food that was available. No coffee, we had to ask for it... Now for the room.. the room was clean and inviting. (I always bring a bed bug/ bodily fluids flashlight with me) no bugs or bodily fluid yay! The beds are very high, I'm only 5'1" and it was a little difficult for me to climb into it. But the bed was comfortable. Pillows were ok. There was hair under the vanity in the bathroom. They don't give you many towels hand or wash clothes. But all in all it was fine. There is a desk space so you can work on your lap top, and a comfy chair in the corner with a table. There is a mini Keurig coffee maker, with a nice selection of tea,coffee and hot chocolate. There is a micro wave and mini fridge, an ironing board decent closet space and a full length mirror. The bathroom has a blow dryer and shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, lotion dispensers. The shower was clean!! The front desk check in person Amir was very pleasant. The hotel is quiet. There is a nice pool. There are lots of options for food and shopping in the area. Location is great! The door on our bathroom was a barn type door that slid on a rail above the door opening, very heavy, banged on the wall when moving it and left a gap that could be seen through at the person sitting on the toilet. The room was clean, air conditioning worked great, pillows and bed were comfy. Waffles, sausage and bacon for breakfast, delicious.

We've stayed twice at this location, once in 2025 and this Jan 2026. We love staying at Hilton brands. Clean rooms. Great location. However, This location the Staff, Front desk, not very friendly, or welcoming, More inconvenienced. Will we stay again, probably the location is easy and convenient for when we visit family.
